WHAT I DO
My job is to make your writing stand out. Period. Exclamation point.
Here's why I'm qualified to do this. At the core of every role I've held in my 20 year career is a focus on the impact of grammar, style, and flow on effective communications. This means I am either creating, editing or proofreading anything that comes in or goes out--emails, articles, white papers, social media content, procedure manuals, and promotional pieces to name a few. I am a writer, published in local newspapers and national magazines, and former editor of an international association magazine.
I draw on a broad range of experience from (but certainly not limited to) the following industries:
hospitality management, tourism development and snow sport resort operations,
entrepreneurial start up and expansion,
non-profit organization marketing, and
oil and gas project administration.
HOW I STARTED
I was raised by a grammar hammer Mother--her unrelenting old-school tutelage is my secret weapon. This led to my lifelong obsession with the power of words to express and connect.
While earning my Bachelor of Tourism and Hospitality Management, I continued to build on my writing and editing foundation using every spare elective course to study business communications, creative writing, entrepreneurial management, along with public and persuasive speech creation and delivery. This, of course, also meant getting to know several style manuals as if they were close friends.
